He's Here!

Kyle's sister, Tara found out she was pregnant when I was in my third trimester. We knew that her little one and Jack would grow up to be really close (whether they liked it or not). Last weekend was her baby shower at 33 weeks, and she ended up cutting the party short for a trip to the ER because of her blood pressure. After multiple visits to the hospital, different BP medications, tests, monitors, etc, she ended up getting induced and then having a C section at 34 weeks pregnant. Kyle, Jack and I rushed over to the hospital when we heard the news. The nurse took us straight over to the window viewing where we could watch her actual surgery take place. It was pretty surreal. Although it was a tad mortifying, it was still incredibly breathtaking being able to witness the miracle of little baby Liam be born.

Tara is still recovering, but doing well, and Liam is showing us what a strong little guy he is already while hanging out in the NICU.

Jack couldn't stop badgering us about Liam's arrival, saying, "Is he here yet?", "When is Liam coming?", "Can I see the baby yet?". He'll come when he comes Jack! Needless to say, Jack is really happy that his new best friend is here and doing well.

It's pretty amazing how a 6 month age difference seems so much larger and apparent as babies then any other time. I can't wait to see the two interact, cause trouble, play games, have conversations, annoy one another, etc. In the meantime, my own sister got engaged, so it's only a matter of time before she becomes pregnant. Maybe by then Kyle and I will be trying for Jack's little sibling so they can have a best friend/cousin too?
