We introduced the "s-word". That's right people, solids.
I kept teetering back and forth in regards to when we should introduce them to Jack. This book said one thing, that website said another, this person recommends such and such, the doctor said that...yadda yadda.
A continuous trend in parenting, that I quickly learned is that everyone has their own opinions on what they believe is right. So really, what it comes down to is making your own decision for what is best for you and your child. Nuff said.
May 25th marked the first day of Jack's solids [5 months and 3 weeks old]. We mixed 1 T. of rice cereal in with about 3oz. of breast milk. It was so watered down, you couldn't even tell any rice was in there. The following day we added an extra tablespoon, the next day a little more rice, and so on. So far he seems to be doing fine with it. He really gets a kick out of sitting in his high chair like an adult, eating from a spoon. We'll give him some purees pretty soon....and then come the really cute pictures :)
