Toddler Bed Time

Jack has been getting more and more brave each day. His latest trick is to try and climb out of his crib. A few times I went in his room, I caught him in the middle of trying to get out, as he was just dangling on the railings.

Since his crib was marketed as a "convertible crib" we thought we could easily change it to a toddler bed...but that's not the case. You would need to purchase a $80 railing that fits on it. No thanks. We bought a beautiful wooden toddler bed from Walmart for less than the cost of that stupid railing. It matches the rest of his furniture perfectly too.

When it came time to go to sleep that first night a week and a half ago, he did awesome. He never woke up once, and he even slept in! Unfortunately this was short lived. After a few days he discovered he can move freely from the bed. Nap time quickly turned into a free for all playtime. All of his books would be pulled from his shelves, stuffed animals were tossed everywhere, clothes were out of his drawers, etc. He didn't nap for three days straight and soon began to wake up in the middle of the night wanting to be rocked. It's been HELL!

Hopefully this little "phase" ends soon...
