Upgrade

Up to this point, bath time consisted of hauling the infant bath, Mr. Ducky, soaps, towels, etc, all to the kitchen every other night. As Jack grew, he no longer would calmly lay back and relax on the plastic insert bed. He would constantly try to lift himself up, which really just looked like he was trying to tone up his abs for the summer.

A few months ago we removed that plastic part and just sat him up in the tub, still on the kitchen counter. Well, the time came and we finally transitioned from the kitchen to his bathroom for bath time. He seemed to enjoy it. Then again, I don't think he really gave too much of a notice to it.

I know that I shouldn't ever say, "Oh, I can't wait until Jack can do this", because I am supposed to live in each waking moment with him..yadda yadda yadda, but I kind of can't wait until he is a little older for bath time, can sit up, and actually tilt his head back when I tell him to in order to avoid soap in his eyes. We seem to really struggle with this part. It's like we are drowning him while he's sitting up. Every time we bathe him Kyle and I say to one another, "There's got to be a better way of doing this..."

Also, speaking of upgrades, we bought a new car seat for Jack, so he is no longer using his infant car seat. He has a "big boy" one to use now that is convertible. He should use it for a few years then hopefully. After researching all of the different brands and types out there, we ended up settling on the Evenflo Symphony. It had great reviews, and we had a coupon for Babies R us, so it worked out. Although, when it's in our car, it takes up a good portion of the back seat. It will be a tight fit for kid number 2...but once kid number tres comes along, then it's time for mommy and daddy to get another vehicle upgrade of their own [...and I refuse to get a minivan]
